Dental Periodic Exam with Prophylaxis

The American Dental Association and our doctors recommend dental check up every 6 month In order to maintain optimal oral health, more frequent prophylaxis (teeth cleaning) is necessary for some individual.  This allows us to detect early signs of disease and treat early stage of gingivitis to avoid lengthy and expensive dental treatment in the future.

Sealants

Natural teeth have many bumps and grooves, the chewing surfaces of children's teeth are highly susceptible to cavities because debris can be trapped between the groves which resulting in bacteria growth and tooth cavities.

Not only children in cavity-prone years (aged 4 to 17), adults also face the same pit and fissure problem, especially the posterior teeth which are difficult for people of any age to reach with a toothbrush or dental floss. The application of sealants can seal the grooves, protecting the occlusal surfaces, inhibiting bacterial growth and proving a smoother surface which can help prevent tooth decay for susceptible populations.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a naturally occurring compound that has been proved to make teeth stronger which effectively reduces the rate of dental decays, almost all brands of toothpaste we use today have some form of fluoride.

After dental cleaning, a topical fluoride gel containing stronger concentration of fluoride is applied by a dentist which promotes teeth remineralization and offers stronger resistance to dental decays.

Mouth Guard

A mouth guard is a custom made protective device that covers the teeth to prevent and reduce injury to the teeth, arches, lips and gums. Mouth guard is most often used to prevent injury in contact sports, and also a treatment for bruxism or TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder)
